This project is intended to investigate and construct a system capable of communicating with a smart card in a room, without the need for contact or holding the card still while communication occurs.
This project investigated the use of vision systems, computer control and electronic hardware to simulate the behaviour and control of real-world animals. I built the hardware – the robots themselves, including a design for an optical link between the robots and the vision systems.

A joint commercially-oriented project between myself and another Oxford student . We built a prototype dot-com in an amazingly short time, using the latest database technologies and Web servers.

I was a contractor for this company during the vacation after my third year. I built a piece of software that could record a solo part while playing an accompaniment, then play them back in perfect time together, with the addition of artificial reverberation. This software is the centrepiece of their product line.

I have extensive experience in all aspects of Windows programming. I am familiar with DirectX 8, and have written a Web-based tutorial on the subject, which attracts several thousand visitors a month. I am fluent in C, C++ and Java, and I am a regular visitor to and moderator of a popular C++ programming forum.
I also have experience in many areas of Web development, including my own personal Web site. I have commercial experience in HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server and many Microsoft Web technologies.
I have also worked extensively with embedded applications, including C in microcontrollers and electronics. I have written applications for a diverse range of devices, including my own hardware, the Pocket PC (Windows CE), and also in production cars.
